What is Lavis Builder Gel in the Bottle?

A brush-on builder gel: the strength of a builder in a polish-style bottle with a brush, so it goes on like a gel color and cures into a hard, flexible overlay. Lavis's Ver2 formula is thicker than the first version and does not run into the cuticle, which is what makes it the easiest Lavis builder to start with. It is formulated without HEMA, cures in 60 seconds under a UV or LED lamp, and Lavis quotes up to three weeks of wear on the product pages.

The range is built around "your nails but stronger" bookings: 36 ultra-sheer natural shades in the B1 book, 36 more in B2, and a clear 00 in a 30 mL bottle for plain overlays. Colors run from crystal clear through milky whites and nudes to soft pinks and warm tones; they layer subtly rather than covering.

The B1 and B2 books, the sets and the clear

Every shade is a 0.5 oz bottle sold on its own. The three set listings are the way to put a whole book on the wall: B1, 36 colors, B2, 36 colors, and B1 and B2 together, 72 colors. The 00 Clear is the one bottle most techs open first.

Each single links to its own page with swatch photos. The names are Lavis's; the shade numbers run B1-01 to B1-36 and B2-01 to B2-36, so a client's favorite is easy to reorder by code.

How do you apply Lavis Builder Gel in the Bottle?

1. Prep. Push cuticles back, buff the shine off, dust, dehydrate. Lavis pairs the line with a rubber base for grip; see LDS Rubber Base and our Base & Top Gel.
2. Thin first coat. Brush a thin layer edge to edge, cap the free edge, cure 60 seconds.
3. Build the apex. Float a bead of gel at the stress point and let it self-level with the nail turned over for a few seconds, then cure 60 seconds. Lavis describes the gel as flexible with good coverage; two building coats are usual.
4. Refine. File the shape, buff the surface, dust.
5. Color and top. Wear the shade as it is under a glossy top, or add a gel color over it. Tops are under Base & Top Gel.

One practical difference between the two bottled builders is the shade logic. The Lavis books are numbered and sheer by design, so a client's color is reordered by code and the natural nail always shows through. If the brief is an opaque cover, a builder is the wrong product; use a solid gel color from SNS Gel Only over a clear builder instead.

What does HEMA-free mean here?

HEMA is the small monomer in most gel products and the one most often named when a client reacts to gel. Lavis formulates this builder without it, and we state that as what is left out, not as a promise that nobody can react; no cosmetic can honestly make that promise. For a tech it answers the client who reacted to a builder before and still wants an overlay.

Wear, fills and removal

• Wear: Lavis quotes up to three weeks with proper application. Growth shows at the cuticle before the overlay fails.
• Fills: file the regrowth line flat, prep the new growth, and float fresh gel over the whole nail. A builder is refilled, not removed, for most clients.
• Removal: file the bulk down, then soak off the rest like a gel; Lavis lists the gel as easy to remove. Never pry.
• Stocking: the 00 Clear plus six to eight sheer shades covers most natural-look bookings; the B1 set is the next step, B2 when clients ask for deeper pinks.
