What is the difference between the Green Book and the Yellow Green Book?

Both are SNS Pro books of 120 shades whose powder needs no activator coat, and both come as powder, gel and lacquer duo, or 3-in-1. The difference is the palette. The Green Book is broader, with 21 blues and teals, 8 glitters and 8 dark shades. The Yellow Green Book is lighter and quieter: 28 nudes, 27 pinks, no glitter, and only 5 dark shades, every one a cream finish. A salon that wants one no-activator book usually picks by that.

What is the difference between this page and the Yellow Green Book 3-in-1 page?

This page lists each of the 120 codes once, and you pick the format on the listing: powder, gel and lacquer duo, or the 3-in-1 set. The 3-in-1 page, and the other format pages linked in the table above, list the same codes as single-format products. Use this page when you want to browse the book and decide the format afterwards. Use a format page when you already know you only buy, say, the gel.

What is a board?

A quarter of the book. The Yellow Green Book is split into four boards of 30 codes each, #001 to #030 and so on, and each board is sold as a bundle in the same formats as the singles: the 30 powders, the 30 duos, or the 30 3-in-1 sets. The price is the per-code price times 30, so a board is a way to fill part of a color wall in one order rather than a discount. The full book of 120 works the same way.

Can I use these powders with an activator anyway?

You don't need to, and the point of this book is that you don't. The powder sets on its own after two coats over base, and you go straight to filing and top coat. It also sculpts with monomer as an acrylic, like the other SNS Pro powders. If your salon runs a standard activator routine on the other books, keep it for those and skip it here; mixing the two routines on one client is where mistakes come from.

Will the gel and the lacquer really match the powder?

That is what the code is for. We build all three formats of a code to one shade, which SNS calls MasterMatch, so a client who wears the powder on her hands and the lacquer on her toes reads as one color. Base resins and pigment loads differ between a powder, a gel and a lacquer, so the match is engineered rather than automatic, and it is the reason the same code number is printed on all three pieces. Match against the physical book or the swatch photo on the listing rather than a phone screen when it matters.

What is the SNS Yellow Green Book?

One of the six SNS Pro color books, and this page is the whole book: 120 shades coded #001 to #120, one listing per code. Open any code and you choose the format on the listing, powder, duo or 3-in-1, so the shade you swatched on the physical book is the shade you order, whatever service it's for.

It is not a book of yellows and greens. Seven yellows and oranges and 15 greens sit among 120 shades that lean nude and pink. SNS names the Pro books for the cover; this one is defined by its no-activator powder and its light, cream palette.

The second no-activator book and the lightest bench of the six. 28 nudes and browns, 27 pinks and mauves, 15 greens, 15 blues and teals, 15 reds and corals, 8 whites and grays, 7 yellows and oranges, only 5 dark shades and no glitter at all. Cream finishes throughout.

Every code on this page comes in 3 formats, and the price is the same for every code in the book. We match all three pieces of a code to one shade, which SNS calls MasterMatch, and formulate the base and powder with our Nutri-Plus system and the GelStar gel with vitamin E and calcium, so the pieces are built as one system rather than three products that share a number. Inside the Yellow Green Book: 120 shades by family

We counted the 120 swatches on the official card by color family. A glitter is counted in its family and again under glitter, and a dark shade is counted in its family and again under dark, so the column does not add to 120.

How does one code work across dip, gel and lacquer?

Prep once: push the cuticle back, shape, buff the shine off the plate, and wipe with alcohol so no oil is left. Then the service decides the piece.

Dip, on the hands. Two coats of powder over two thin coats of base, then file and buff, then top coat. No activator at any point; this powder sets on its own. No lamp anywhere in this step. The liquids are under Dip Essentials.
Gel, if the client wants gel instead. A thin coat of gel base, cured. Two thin coats of GelStar color, cured after each. Gel top, cured, then wipe the tacky layer. Base and top are under Base & Top Gel.
Lacquer, on the toes. Two coats of the SNS Nail Lacquer from the same code, air-dried. A top coat is optional.

The client leaves in one color from fingertip to toe, and next month she can switch from dip to gel and keep the shade. Removal for dip and gel is an acetone soak, never a peel; our guide is in how to safely remove dip powder at home.

Boards and the full-book set

Above the single codes sit five bundles: four boards of 30 codes each (#001 to #030, and so on up to #120), and the full book of 120. Each bundle comes in the same formats as the singles, and every one is priced at exactly the per-code price times the count. A board is for filling a quarter of a wall at once; the full set is for opening a matched wall in one order. Neither is a discount.
