Frequently asked questions

What is Lavis C16 Honey Eclipse?

A 24-shade gel polish collection in the Lavis C-series with a glow and shimmer cat eye finish: celestial honey, amber twilight, warm rose and dusk with a rose-gold line. Each shade is a 0.5 fl oz (15 mL) bottle, formulated without HEMA, curing 60 seconds per coat under a UV/LED lamp. We sell the singles and the 24-color set.

Do I need a magnet for C16 Honey Eclipse?

Yes. The pigment is magnetic and only forms a line when a magnet is held a few millimeters above the wet second coat for a few seconds. Without one the gel cures as an even shimmer over the base color. Any bar or stylus nail magnet works; ours are in the Magnet collection, sold separately. Cure each nail as soon as its line is right.

Is Lavis C16 Honey Eclipse HEMA-free?

Yes. Lavis formulates the whole C-series without HEMA, the small monomer in most gel products and the one most often named when a client reacts to gel. We state this as what is left out, not as a promise that nobody can react, because no cosmetic can honestly make that promise. If a client has reacted to gel before, check what was in it first.

Which C16 Honey Eclipse shades should a salon start with?

For all year and romantic sets: pale champagne honey for everyday, warm rose for a romantic set, amber twilight as the accent. Within the Lavis range, C15 Gilded Aura is the gold line on darker bases, and CE9 Cabin Fever the 12-shade warm-neutral cat eye drop. Fill the rest from the 24-color set listing once you see which codes your clients ask for; most salons open a C-series line with six to eight codes rather than all 24.

How long does C16 Honey Eclipse wear, and how is it removed?

Lavis quotes up to 21 days with proper prep and a gel top coat; when the top dulls, a fresh glossy top brings the shine back. Removal is a normal gel soak-off: file the top thin, wrap in acetone, wait, and push the softened gel away with a pusher. Never pry or peel; that is what damages the nail plate.

What is Lavis C16 Honey Eclipse?

C16 Honey Eclipse is a 24-shade gel polish collection in the Lavis C-series, the specialty-finish range that runs from C01 to C17. Finish: glow and shimmer cat eye. Celestial glowing shades: moonlit and sunlit tones of warm rose, honey and amber with a rose-gold cat eye, glowing and romantic. The first shade is a pale champagne honey, and the range runs from honey through amber twilight to warm rose and dusk.

Every shade is formulated without HEMA, comes in the standard 0.5 fl oz (15 mL) salon bottle, and cures in 60 seconds per coat under a UV/LED lamp. We carry the line as 24 singles and as the 24-color set.

The 24 shades, as singles or the set

The C16 Honey Eclipse 24-color set listing carries every shade as a Style option plus a full-set option, so it is a second way to buy any single code or to stock the whole line at once.

Each code links to its own page with swatch photos; the short description is Lavis's own note on the shade. Screens shift a shade more than a swatch does, so if a client is between two codes, swatch both on a tip before committing.

Singles are the way to trial a line: two or three codes, a few weeks of bookings, then the set once the requests keep coming. The set is for the salon that already has the clientele and wants every code on the wall from one order, with the singles as the restock route afterward.

Who is C16 Honey Eclipse for?

Lavis pitches this line for all year and romantic sets. In the salon it tends to book for:

  • Romantic and date-night sets: rose-gold line on honey and rose bases.
  • Warm neutrals with movement: honey and champagne as everyday shades.
  • Anniversary and engagement bookings: glowing, not glittery.
  • Warm-undertone clients: every base in the drop is warm.

Within the Lavis range, C15 Gilded Aura is the gold line on darker bases, and CE9 Cabin Fever the 12-shade warm-neutral cat eye drop. The whole C-series runs from C01 to C17 with one specialty finish per line, jelly, pearl, cream, neon, glass and cat eye, so most salons pick two or three lines by finish rather than stocking all of them.

How do you apply Lavis C16 cat eye gel?

  1. Prep and base. Push cuticles back, buff the shine off, wipe, then cure a thin gel base from Base & Top Gel.
  2. First coat. A thin coat of the C16 Honey Eclipse shade, cured 60 seconds, no magnet. This is the color bed.
  3. Second coat and the magnet. A slightly fuller coat; before it cures, hold a cat eye magnet a few millimeters above the wet gel for a few seconds, then cure that nail at once.
  4. Full cure and top. Cure the hand 60 to 90 seconds, then seal with a glossy gel top. Lavis quotes up to 21 days of wear with proper prep.

Magnets are sold separately in our Magnet collection; lamps and prep tools are under Nail Tools & Accessories.

Straight, diagonal or double: where the magnet goes

Hold the magnet lengthwise over the center of the nail for the classic single streak, or angle it so the line crosses on a diagonal. Two short passes on either side, with a flash cure between them, give a double line. A magnet held flat over the whole nail spreads the pigment into an even glow with no line.

On the lighter bases in C16 Honey Eclipse the line reads soft; a cured coat of black or a deep solid from SNS Gel Only underneath makes it read strong. A matte top from Base & Top Gel turns any of the shades into a velvet cat eye.

How is a 24-shade C-series cat eye different from the 12-shade CE drops?

The CE drops are Lavis's 12-shade magnetic cat eye capsules, each built around one mood with the 9D pigment. The C-series cat eye lines are twice the size and lead with the base: glow and shimmer cat eye. Pick C16 Honey Eclipse when a client wants a range of bases with one consistent line; pick a CE drop when the line itself is the point. Our own SNS Cat Eye Gel, Crystal Twinkle and Diamond Twinkle, covers 24 shades each across the full color range.

What does HEMA-free mean on this page?

HEMA is the small monomer in most gel products and the one most often named when a client reacts to gel. Lavis formulates the whole C-series without it, and we state that as what is left out, not as a promise that nobody can react; no cosmetic can honestly make that promise. For a tech, it answers the client who has had trouble with gel before.

Wear, removal and stocking the line

  • Wear: Lavis quotes up to 21 days with proper prep and a top coat. When the top dulls, a fresh glossy top brings the shine back.
  • Removal: a normal gel soak-off. File the top thin, wrap in acetone, wait, push the softened gel away. Never pry.
  • Shelf: caps tight, out of window light, at room temperature. Roll the bottle before the first coat of the day; shimmer and pigment settle between uses.
  • Stocking: most salons open a C-series line with six to eight codes and the set listing for restocks, rather than all 24 at once.
