Frequently asked questions

What is in the Lavis C18 Midnight Gleam set?

24 magnetic cat eye gel polishes, shades C18-01 to C18-24. Sets come with a free display while supplies last.

Which colors are in Midnight Gleam?

Velvet reds and wines, berry and hot pinks, rose, coral and orchid, warm copper, amber and gold, sage and olive with a pink glow, emerald and deep teal, turquoise, ocean and sapphire blues, and a smoky silver.

Do I need a magnet for these shades?

Yes. Hold a cat eye magnet over the wet, uncured coat to move the shimmer into a line, a cross, a starburst or an all-over glow, then cure.

How many coats should I apply?

Two or more coats give the deepest cat eye shimmer.

What is Lavis C18 Midnight Gleam?

C18 Midnight Gleam is a 24-shade magnetic cat eye gel collection in the Lavis C-series. The idea is a midnight sky dressed in velvet: deep, glowing colors with a moving shimmer line that catches the light.

The palette

Velvet reds and wines, berry and hot pinks, rose, coral and orchid, warm copper, amber and gold, sage and olive with a pink glow, emerald and deep teal, turquoise, ocean and sapphire blues, and a smoky silver. Reds, berries and golds carry Christmas and New Year sets, while the emeralds, teals and blues work all winter.

One bottle, four looks

  • Single line: hold the magnet flat across the nail for a classic cat eye stripe.
  • Cross or diagonal: tilt the magnet to pull the shimmer on an angle.
  • Starburst: work the magnet from several sides for a star or flower pattern.
  • All-over glow: keep the magnet further away for a soft velvet sheen.

How to apply

  1. Prep the nail and apply your base gel, then cure.
  2. Apply a thin coat of a C18 shade and cure.
  3. Apply a second coat and, while it is still wet, use the magnet to place the shimmer. Cure.
  4. Finish with top coat and cure.

Two or more coats give the deepest effect. Looking for a warmer gold-light cat eye? See the Lavis C15 Gilded Aura collection.
