What is A'DOR ACE1 Seasonal Splendor?

Seasonal Splendor is an A'DOR cat eye gel line sold under the code ACE1: twelve gel polishes in 13 mL (0.4 fl oz) bottles, numbered ACE1-01 to ACE1-12. Each bottle carries high-density magnetic particles. Painted on without a magnet, a shade reads as a rich shimmer color; held under a nail magnet while the gel is still wet, the particles gather into a bright, dimensional line that moves as the hand turns. A'DOR describes the line as "the beauty of mood, shimmer, and light", a seasonal collection inspired by elegance, passion and sparkle, and the palette follows that brief.

The formula is made without HEMA and without TPO. We state that as a description of what is left out of the bottle, not as a promise about anyone's skin. It is the same A'DOR gel base as the brand's color lines, so it goes over a normal gel base coat, under a normal gel top coat, and soaks off like any other gel polish.

The 12 shades on the card

A'DOR prints the whole line on one swatch card, and the colors below are read from that card and from the bottle photos on each listing. Shimmer shifts on screen more than a flat color does, so use the swatch as a guide and the bottle on the nail as the final word.

• Metallic lights: ACE1-01 is a silver, ACE1-07 a warm gold. Both pull a very bright line and work over almost any base.
• Blue: ACE1-02 is a cobalt blue, the one cool shade in the line and a strong choice for winter sets.
• The reds: ACE1-03, ACE1-08, ACE1-09 and ACE1-11 run from a warm orange red through cherry to deep wine and raspberry. Four reds in a twelve-shade line tells you what the collection is built for: holiday and party season.
• Fuchsia: ACE1-04 is a berry fuchsia, bright enough to stand on its own as an accent nail.
• The greens: ACE1-06 is a deep forest green and ACE1-10 an emerald with a blue lean. Paired with a red, they make the classic December set.
• Neutrals: ACE1-05 is a bronze brown and ACE1-12 a smoky taupe, the two shades that keep the line useful after the holidays.

Every shade sells as a single bottle, and the set of 12 puts the whole card on the wall in one order. Which shades should you start with?

For a salon new to the line, we suggest four to six singles before the set. Start with one red, because red cat eye is what most clients ask for between November and January, and add the silver or gold for accent and French work. One green gives you the red and green pairing, and the taupe or bronze covers the client who wants a cat eye that still reads as a neutral. Once cat eye is a named service on your menu, the set of 12 is the simpler way to stock the rest.

For a home user, one dark shade and one light shade are enough to learn the technique: the line is easier to see and judge on a dark red or green, and the silver shows how the magnet angle changes the shape of the streak.

How do you pull a clean cat eye line?

ACE1 works like any magnetic gel. The two habits that matter most are thin coats and a magnet that stays still once the line forms. A'DOR describes the magnet response as easy to control, which in practice means the particles gather quickly and hold their place long enough to cure.

1. Prep and base. Push back, buff off the shine, wipe clean, then a thin coat of gel base, cured. Base and top gels are on our Base & Top Gel page.
2. Optional dark bed. One cured coat of black gel under the cat eye makes the line look brighter and deeper. Skip it when you want the shade's own color around the line, as with the silver or gold.
3. First coat of ACE1, cured. Thin and even, no magnet. This coat builds the color.
4. Second coat, magnet, hold. Apply a second coat and, before curing, hold a magnet from our Cat Eye Magnets collection one or two millimeters above the nail for five to ten seconds. Hold it straight along the nail for the classic streak, or at an angle for a diagonal line.
5. Cure straight away. Move to the lamp before the particles relax. Working one nail at a time keeps every line as sharp as the first.
6. Top coat. A glossy gel top seals the line and adds depth. A matte top over the reds and greens gives a velvet look that suits the season.

Every coat cures under a UV/LED lamp; our lamps are under Nail Tools & Accessories. Two common problems have simple fixes: if the line looks faint, the magnet was too far from the nail; if the line will not move, the coat is too thick, so go thinner.

Looks for the season and beyond

• Holiday red: a red from the line on every nail, straight streak, glossy top. The simplest set in the collection and the one clients ask for by name.
• Red and green: alternate a red with the forest green or the emerald, or put the green on the ring finger only.
• Gold French: a sheer or nude base with ACE1-07 across the free edge only, the magnet pulling the shine along the tip.
• Silver accent: a plain gel set with ACE1-01 on one nail and the magnet on a diagonal, so the line crosses the nail as the hand moves.
• Velvet neutral: the taupe or bronze with a matte top for a cat eye that works in the office and after the holidays.

Care, wear and the magnet

• The line does not rub off. It sits inside the cured gel, so the set lasts as long as the top coat holds. A fresh top coat brings the shine back without redoing the line.
• Keep magnets away from open bottles. A magnet left beside a bottle pulls the particles to one side; roll the bottle to mix them back before the next coat.
• Roll, do not shake. Rolling mixes the shimmer without adding air bubbles.
• Cap between nails. Shimmer gels thicken if the bottle stays open beside a running lamp.
• Removal is a soak-off. File through the top coat, wrap with acetone, wait, then push off gently.
