Frequently asked questions

What is Lavis C05 Neon Obsession?

A 24-shade gel polish collection in the Lavis C-series with a neon and glow-in-the-dark finish: 14 neon brights plus 10 glow-in-the-dark shades. Each shade is a 0.5 fl oz (15 mL) bottle, formulated without HEMA, curing 60 seconds per coat under a UV/LED lamp. We sell the singles and the 24-color set, and Lavis's 48-color combo that pairs it with a second C-series line.

How many coats does C05 Neon Obsession need?

Two coats for full opacity; the glow shades charge under the cure lamp and glow in the dark afterward. Cure 60 seconds after every coat and seal with a glossy gel top. Because the look changes with the coat count, keep a swatch tip of each code at one, two and three coats so the client can choose before you start.

Is Lavis C05 Neon Obsession HEMA-free?

Yes. Lavis formulates the whole C-series without HEMA, the small monomer in most gel products and the one most often named when a client reacts to gel. We state this as what is left out, not as a promise that nobody can react, because no cosmetic can honestly make that promise. If a client has reacted to gel before, check what was in it first.

Which C05 Neon Obsession shades should a salon start with?

For summer and festival season: two or three of the glow shades 01 to 10 for the party requests, plus a neon pink and orange for summer accents. Within the Lavis range, C03 Pretty in Pearl ships with it in the 48-color Lumi Shock set, and CE14 Cosmic Voltage is the neon cat eye drop. Fill the rest from the 24-color set listing once you see which codes your clients ask for; most salons open a C-series line with six to eight codes rather than all 24.

How long does C05 Neon Obsession wear, and how is it removed?

Lavis quotes up to 21 days with proper prep and a gel top coat; when the top dulls, a fresh glossy top brings the shine back. Removal is a normal gel soak-off: file the top thin, wrap in acetone, wait, and push the softened gel away with a pusher. Never pry or peel; that is what damages the nail plate.

What is Lavis C05 Neon Obsession?

C05 Neon Obsession is a 24-shade gel polish collection in the Lavis C-series, the specialty-finish range that runs from C01 to C17. Finish: neon and glow-in-the-dark. Twenty-four high-energy shades: fourteen neon brights that pop under salon light and blacklight, plus a glow-in-the-dark subset (shades 01 to 10) that charges under the lamp and glows in low light. Lavis bundles it with C03 Pretty in Pearl as the 48-color Lumi Shock Design set.

Every shade is formulated without HEMA, comes in the standard 0.5 fl oz (15 mL) salon bottle, and cures in 60 seconds per coat under a UV/LED lamp. We carry the line as 24 singles and as the 24-color set and a 48-color combo set.

The 24 shades, as singles or the set

The C05 Neon Obsession 24-color set listing carries every shade as a Style option plus a full-set option, so it is a second way to buy any single code or to stock the whole line at once. Lavis also sells this drop inside the Lavis Set 48 Colors - Lumi Shock Design Collection, which pairs it with a second C-series collection.

Each code links to its own page with swatch photos; the short description is Lavis's own note on the shade. Screens shift a shade more than a swatch does, so if a client is between two codes, swatch both on a tip before committing.

Singles are the way to trial a line: two or three codes, a few weeks of bookings, then the set once the requests keep coming. The set is for the salon that already has the clientele and wants every code on the wall from one order, with the singles as the restock route afterward.

Who is C05 Neon Obsession for?

Lavis pitches this line for summer and festival season. In the salon it tends to book for:

  • Festival and summer party sets: neons that show from across a room.
  • Blacklight and club bookings: the 01 to 10 subset glows in the dark after a lamp charge.
  • Neon French and accent nails: one neon tip over a nude set.
  • Techs stocking a summer wall: brights and glow in one order.

Within the Lavis range, C03 Pretty in Pearl ships with it in the 48-color Lumi Shock set, and CE14 Cosmic Voltage is the neon cat eye drop. The whole C-series runs from C01 to C17 with one specialty finish per line, jelly, pearl, cream, neon, glass and cat eye, so most salons pick two or three lines by finish rather than stocking all of them.

How do you apply Lavis C05 gel polish?

  1. Prep and base. Push cuticles back, buff the shine off, wipe the plate clean, then cure a thin gel base from Base & Top Gel for 60 seconds.
  2. First coat. Thin, with the free edge capped. Cure 60 seconds.
  3. Second coat. Two coats for full opacity; the glow shades charge under the cure lamp and glow in the dark afterward. Cure 60 seconds after each coat.
  4. Top coat. Seal with a glossy gel top and cure. Lavis quotes up to 21 days of wear with proper prep and a top coat.

Every layer cures under a UV/LED lamp; lamps, files and prep tools are under Nail Tools & Accessories. Removal is a normal gel soak-off.

Layering, topping and French work with a neon and glow-in-the-dark finish

Translucent and effect finishes give more than one service from a bottle. One coat over a cured cream from SNS Gel Only turns any solid color into a neon and glow-in-the-dark version of itself. Two coats over bare base give the finish as Lavis designed it. A matte gel top from Base & Top Gel turns the same shade velvet; a glossy top keeps the glass look.

For a French, paint the tip in the shade and let it fade into the base with a soft brush before curing; translucent gels blend where a cream would leave a hard line. Chrome, glitter and foil from Nail Art can be encapsulated under a thin coat of the lighter shades and still show through.

How neon and glow-in-the-dark finish compares with a cream gel

A cream gel covers in two coats and hides the nail. A neon and glow-in-the-dark finish behaves differently: Two coats for full opacity; the glow shades charge under the cure lamp and glow in the dark afterward. That is why the coat count on this page is a range rather than a rule, and why swatching on a tip matters more than it does for a solid color. Our own solid gel colors are under SNS Gel Only if the brief is full coverage.

What does HEMA-free mean on this page?

HEMA is the small monomer in most gel products and the one most often named when a client reacts to gel. Lavis formulates the whole C-series without it, and we state that as what is left out, not as a promise that nobody can react; no cosmetic can honestly make that promise. For a tech, it answers the client who has had trouble with gel before.

Wear, removal and stocking the line

  • Wear: Lavis quotes up to 21 days with proper prep and a top coat. When the top dulls, a fresh glossy top brings the shine back.
  • Removal: a normal gel soak-off. File the top thin, wrap in acetone, wait, push the softened gel away. Never pry.
  • Shelf: caps tight, out of window light, at room temperature. Roll the bottle before the first coat of the day; shimmer and pigment settle between uses.
  • Stocking: most salons open a C-series line with six to eight codes and the set listing for restocks, rather than all 24 at once.
