Frequently asked questions
What is Lavis C09 Morning Dewdrop?
A 24-shade gel polish collection in the Lavis C-series with a jelly cat eye finish: dewy jelly cat eye in nude, pink, purple and blue. Each shade is a 0.5 fl oz (15 mL) bottle, formulated without HEMA, curing 60 seconds per coat under a UV/LED lamp. We sell the singles and the 24-color set.
Do I need a magnet for C09 Morning Dewdrop?
Yes. The pigment is magnetic and only forms a line when a magnet is held a few millimeters above the wet second coat for a few seconds. Without one the gel cures as an even shimmer over the base color. Any bar or stylus nail magnet works; ours are in the Magnet collection, sold separately. Cure each nail as soon as its line is right.
Can a client who reacted to gel before wear C09 Morning Dewdrop?
Check what caused the reaction first. HEMA is the ingredient most often named, and Lavis formulates all 24 C09 shades without it. We say that as what is left out rather than as a safety promise, because no cosmetic can promise that nobody reacts. Patch-testing one nail before a full set is the sensible route for a client with that history.
Which C09 Morning Dewdrop shades should a salon start with?
For all year: a clear iridescent and a nude jelly for everyday hands, the blues and purples as accents. Within the Lavis range, C10 Light of Dawn is the gold-line pastel cousin, and C12 Candy Quartz the candy-jelly one. Fill the rest from the 24-color set listing once you see which codes your clients ask for; most salons open a C-series line with six to eight codes rather than all 24.
Why does my C09 Morning Dewdrop finish look patchy?
Coats that are too thick or not cured between layers, almost always. Cure 60 seconds after every coat, cap the free edge on the first, and keep the coats thin; a thick coat of a translucent or shimmer gel pools at the cuticle and reads uneven. A fresh top coat evens the surface but will not fix a thick under-layer.
What is Lavis C09 Morning Dewdrop?
C09 Morning Dewdrop is a 24-shade gel polish collection in the Lavis C-series, the specialty-finish range that runs from C01 to C17. Finish: jelly cat eye. Nude, pink, purple and blue tones in a jelly cat eye formula: a serene sweep of dewy jelly tones from clear iridescent to muted pastels, soft and dewy rather than metallic. The magnetic line sits inside a translucent jelly, so it reads as light caught in water.
Every shade is formulated without HEMA, comes in the standard 0.5 fl oz (15 mL) salon bottle, and cures in 60 seconds per coat under a UV/LED lamp. We carry the line as 24 singles and as the 24-color set.
The 24 shades, as singles or the set
The C09 Morning Dewdrop 24-color set listing carries every shade as a Style option plus a full-set option, so it is a second way to buy any single code or to stock the whole line at once.

Each code links to its own page with swatch photos; the short description is Lavis's own note on the shade. Screens shift a shade more than a swatch does, so if a client is between two codes, swatch both on a tip before committing.
The set and the singles are two routes to the same 24 bottles. Start with singles if the line is new to your clients; start with the set if you already know they ask for this finish. Either way, the singles are the restock route for the codes that sell fastest.
Who is C09 Morning Dewdrop for?
Lavis pitches this line for all year. In the salon it tends to book for:
- Soft cat eye clients: a jelly line is quieter than a metallic one.
- Dewy and glazed sets: translucent base plus a moving glow.
- Year-round neutrals with an effect: nude and pink codes for everyday, purple and blue for accents.
- Techs new to cat eye: jelly bases forgive an uneven magnet hold.
Within the Lavis range, C10 Light of Dawn is the gold-line pastel cousin, and C12 Candy Quartz the candy-jelly one. The whole C-series runs from C01 to C17 with one specialty finish per line, jelly, pearl, cream, neon, glass and cat eye, so most salons pick two or three lines by finish rather than stocking all of them.
How do you apply Lavis C09 cat eye gel?
- Start clean. Push back the cuticle, buff lightly, dehydrate, cure a thin base from Base & Top Gel.
- Thin first coat of the C09 Morning Dewdrop shade, cured, no magnet yet.
- Second coat, magnet, flash cure. Hold a cat eye magnet a few millimeters above the wet coat for a few seconds and cure the nail the moment the line is right.
- Top. Full cure, then a glossy gel top coat. Lavis quotes up to 21 days of wear with proper prep.
Our magnets are in the Magnet collection; lamps, files and prep under Nail Tools & Accessories.
Straight, diagonal or double: where the magnet goes
Straight, diagonal, curved or double: the shape of the line is only where the magnet sits. Lengthwise over the center for the classic streak, angled for a diagonal, one end closer for a curve, two flash-cured passes for a double line. Held flat, the magnet spreads the shimmer evenly instead.
Want a harder line on a C09 Morning Dewdrop shade? Cure a dark gel from SNS Gel Only underneath first. Want the base color to lead? Apply straight over gel base. Finish glossy or matte from Base & Top Gel.
How is a 24-shade C-series cat eye different from the 12-shade CE drops?
Twelve versus twenty-four is the short answer. Lavis's CE drops are 12-shade 9D capsules where the magnetic line is the star; C09 Morning Dewdrop is a 24-shade C-series line where the finish is the star, jelly cat eye, and the line stays consistent from code to code. Both use the same magnet and technique. Our SNS Cat Eye Gel lines sit beside them with 24 shades each.
What does HEMA-free mean on this page?
Lavis makes the C-series, C09 Morning Dewdrop included, without HEMA, the monomer behind most gel formulas and the ingredient most often named in gel reactions. Leaving it out is a formulation choice we can state plainly; it is not a guarantee that no client will react, and we do not present it as one.
Wear, removal and stocking the line
- Wear time: Lavis quotes up to 21 days with proper prep and a top coat; the top coat sets the limit.
- Removal: soak-off like any gel: thin the surface with a file, wrap with acetone, wait, push.
- Storage: caps tight, away from sunlight, room temperature; roll before the first coat so shimmer and pigment are even.
- Opening order: a handful of codes plus the set as the restock route is the usual way in, not all 24 on day one.
