What is Lavis Nails?

A full professional range rather than a single product line. Lavis makes gel color in numbered seasonal drops, cat eye gel in its own long-running series, builder gel in four different formats, poly gel, soft gel tips, forms, nail art gels and the lamps, drills and brushes to use them with. LDS sits alongside it as a sister range and shares this page, which is why you will see rubber base and line art gel here too.

What does each range do?

How the numbered collections work

Lavis releases color in drops rather than as one flat catalog. Each C collection holds 25 or 26 shades built around a theme, and each CE cat eye collection holds 13. The practical effect is that a salon buys a story rather than a shade: a drop gives you a wall that looks deliberate, photographs as a set, and gives clients something new to ask for by name each season. Numbers do not overlap between the C and CE series, so C12 and CE12 are unrelated collections.

It also means shade numbers repeat across versions where a collection has been reissued. Always match by the full collection name and number, not by number alone, when reordering.

Which Lavis builder should you use?

• Overlays and short extensions, any skill level: the bottle, Ver 2. It is thicker than Ver 1 and stays where it is brushed, so the apex forms without inverting the hand.
• Sculpting with your own brush: the 30 ml jar, which gives control over bead size and holds more gel per pot.
• 3D flowers, bows and charms: the non-sticky jar. It is a sculpting gel, not a structural one, and it releases cleanly from a silicone tool.
• Real length: poly gel pressed into a dual form.
• Flex under a color service: LDS Rubber Base, which is a base coat rather than a builder.

What a cat eye service needs

A cat eye gel on its own cures as a plain shimmer. The band only appears if a magnet is held over the wet gel, so a magnet from Cat Eye Magnets belongs in the same order as the first cat eye bottle, not in the next one. A dark base under the color makes the band read far stronger, and a glossy top protects the effect. That is the whole technique, and it is why cat eye is the easiest premium-looking service to add to a menu. Both our SNS lines and the Lavis CE series are on Cat Eye Gel, All Brands.

Where Lavis fits beside SNS

The two brands answer different questions. Our own SNS range is built around dip powder and the color books, so an SNS shade code exists as a powder, a gel and a lacquer that match, which is what a salon needs when a client wants fingers in gel and toes in dip in the same color. Lavis is built around gel: seasonal color drops, the cat eye series, and a builder range deep enough to cover overlays, sculpting, 3D work and extensions from one house. A salon running both usually uses SNS for the color wall and the dip menu, and Lavis for the gel services and the art that goes on top. They share nothing technically, so a base and top from either works under the other.

Lavis and LDS on one page

This collection is built on vendor, and it pulls both Lavis and LDS, so around two hundred LDS products sit in the grid: rubber base, line art gels, soft gel tips, drills, lamps and brushes. That matches how the site's menu uses it, with Lavis as the brand entry point. Stocking a salon on Lavis

1. Start with one color drop that suits your clients' season, rather than single shades from five collections. A drop reads as a wall; scattered singles do not.
2. Add the service you charge most for. Cat eye and builder gel both command an upcharge and both need one extra item to work: a magnet for cat eye, a form for extensions.
3. Buy the base and top once. Everything in the range cures under the same lamp and sits under the same top, which is the advantage of standardizing on one house brand.
4. Layer the art in later. Pat Pat pans, foils and stickers raise the ticket, but only once the core service is solid.
5. Check stock before promising. Around 160 active products are out of stock at any time, and a further 300 sit as drafts that are not on the storefront at all.
