LDS Rubber Base Gel - RB-16 (Ver 2) - GEL POLISH 0.5 OZ - Bouncy Blush Collection
LDS Rubber Base Gel - RB-16 (Ver 2) - GEL POLISH 0.5 OZ - Bouncy Blush Collection
Shade RB-16 of the LDS Rubber Base range, Ver2 formula. A rubber base cures with give, absorbing impact and spreading stress across the bond instead of concentrating it at the lift point; LDS tints it so a base coat can double as a sheer natural manicure.
Why techs pick RB-16
- Flexible bond: absorbs impact instead of cracking; a self-leveling cushion over thin or brittle nails.
- Tinted: a sheer pink or neutral that wears alone or under any gel color.
- Strength and flexibility foundation for fortifying brittle nails, in LDS's words.
- Over 21 days of wear with proper application (LDS figure); 0.5 fl oz bottle.

How to apply RB-16
- Prep: cuticles back, remove the shine, dust, dehydrate. Prep matters more with a flexible base, because it bonds rather than grips.
- Thin bonding coat edge to edge, free edge capped, cure.
- Cushion coat: float a fuller layer down the center, let it self-level with the hand turned over, cure.
- Wear it as is under a glossy top, or apply a gel color over it (Base & Top Gel).
Best for
Thin or peeling natural nails, nails recovering from acrylic, active clients who type and lift all day, clients who lift at day five on a standard base, and anyone who wants a sheer tinted mani that is also the base coat.

Questions about RB-16
Rubber base or normal base? A normal gel base cures rigid and cracks on a nail that bends; a rubber base flexes with it. Strong healthy nails do fine on a standard base; thin ones want rubber base under the color.
What is the difference between Ver1 and Ver2? Ver2 is the current LDS formula and the one sold as the 30-color set; Ver1 stays on the shelf for clients matched to it. The RB codes are the same across both.
How is it removed? A normal gel soak-off: file the top thin, wrap in acetone, wait, push the softened gel away. Never pry.
