SNS Pro - Burgundy Book Collection - #049
SNS Pro - Burgundy Book Collection - #049
Burgundy Book #049 is a pale gray, one of the 144 codes in the SNS Pro Burgundy Book. Pick the format on this listing: the Gelous Color dipping powder, the GelStar gel on its own, the gel and lacquer duo, or all three as a 3-in-1 set. The shade is the same in each.
Grays are one of the smallest families in the Burgundy Book, so this one has few substitutes. It is a fall and winter shade for the client who wants something quiet but not nude.
Why this powder
- One code, three pieces. The powder, the gel and the lacquer of #049 are built to one shade, which SNS calls MasterMatch, so the hands and the toes match without a re-swatch.
- Pre-bonded Gelous Color powder. The jar is our Nutri-Plus formula, and we formulate the base and the powder with vitamins and minerals, with vitamin E and calcium in the GelStar gel.
- Dip or sculpt. The powder dips over base and sets with activator, and it also sculpts with monomer like an acrylic, so one jar covers both services.
- Buy only what you use. The gel is sold alone, so a gel salon can carry the whole book without the powder.

How to apply #049
Prep is the same for every format: push the cuticle back, shape, take the shine off the plate, wipe with alcohol.
- Dip. Two rounds of thin base and #049 powder, activator, file and buff, a second activator coat, top coat. No lamp.
- Gel. Gel base, two thin coats of the #049 GelStar and a gel top, each cured, then wipe the tacky layer.
- Lacquer. Two air-dried coats of the #049 lacquer for toes or touch-ups.
Both the dip and the gel come off with an acetone soak.
Three bottles finish the dip service, base, activator and top coat, all under Dip Essentials. If you run the GelStar as a gel service, the gel base and gel top are under Base & Top Gel.

Questions about #049
Can I buy #049 as part of a set?
Yes. It sits on board 2 of the Burgundy Book, codes #037 to #072, and the board is sold as one bundle in each format, 36 codes at a time. The full 144-code book is also sold as one bundle.
Do I need an activator with #049?
Yes. This is the standard SNS dip routine: base, powder, base, powder, then the Sealer Dry activator over the whole nail before you file, and a second coat before top coat. The activator is what sets the powder. The two no-activator books (Green and Yellow Green) skip it; the Burgundy Book does not.
Are the gel and the lacquer the same shade as the powder?
Yes, by design. The same number is printed on the jar, the gel and the lacquer because the three are matched to one color. Resins and pigment loads differ between a powder, a gel and a lacquer, so the match is engineered rather than automatic. Check it on the swatch photo or the physical book, not on a screen.
Color swatches vary with screens and lighting. For accuracy, match against the physical SNS Burgundy Book. Packaging styles may vary by batch.
