How to apply #014

Prep is the same for every format: push the cuticle back, shape, take the shine off the plate, wipe with alcohol.

1. Dip. Two rounds of thin base and #014 powder, activator, file and buff, a second activator coat, top coat. No lamp.
2. Gel. Gel base, two thin coats of the #014 GelStar and a gel top, each cured, then wipe the tacky layer.
3. Lacquer. Two air-dried coats of the #014 lacquer for toes or touch-ups.

Both the dip and the gel come off with an acetone soak.

Why does #014 look different on my screen?

Is this a dip powder or an acrylic powder?

Both. Over base it works as a dip overlay; with monomer it sculpts like an acrylic. One jar of #014 does either job.

How long does #014 last, and how does it come off?

Most clients get a few weeks from a dip set, though prep and lifestyle move that a lot. The dip and the gel both come off with an acetone soak; the lacquer with regular remover. Never peel a dip or gel set, it takes the surface of the nail with it.
