Code #103 of the SNS Pro Pink Book: a lavender. Every code in this book is sold four ways on one listing: the 1.5 oz pre-bonded dipping powder, the 0.5 oz GelStar gel, the gel and lacquer duo, or the 3-in-1 set with powder, gel and lacquer matched to one shade.

A lavender is a spring and summer shade, and one of the pastels that clients photograph most. The powder gives it a solid, even finish; the lacquer in the duo is the same code for toes.

How to apply #103

Prep once: push back the cuticle, shape, buff the shine off the plate and wipe with alcohol. Then the service decides the piece.

1. Dip. A thin coat of base, dip into #103, tap off the excess, repeat once. Activator over the whole nail, file and buff, a second coat of activator, then top coat. No lamp.
2. Gel. Gel base, cured. Two thin coats of the #103 GelStar, cured after each. Gel top, cured, then wipe the tacky layer.
3. Lacquer. Two coats of the #103 lacquer, air-dried. Top coat optional.

Removal for dip and gel is an acetone soak, never a peel.
