What is Lavis C04 Wildflower Whimsy?

C04 Wildflower Whimsy is a 24-shade gel polish collection in the Lavis C-series, the specialty-finish range that runs from C01 to C17. Finish: cream pastel. Blooming-field pastels: soft pinks, greens, blues, lilacs and buttery tones, in a creamy pastel finish with soft, buildable coverage. Lavis calls it classic pastel spring energy and bundles it with C07 Pinktopia as the 48-color Baby Bloom set.

Every shade is formulated without HEMA, comes in the standard 0.5 fl oz (15 mL) salon bottle, and cures in 60 seconds per coat under a UV/LED lamp. We carry the line as 24 singles and as the 24-color set and a 48-color combo set.

The 24 shades, as singles or the set

The C04 Wildflower Whimsy 24-color set listing carries every shade as a Style option plus a full-set option, so it is a second way to buy any single code or to stock the whole line at once. Each code links to its own page with swatch photos; the short description is Lavis's own note on the shade. Screens shift a shade more than a swatch does, so if a client is between two codes, swatch both on a tip before committing.

The set and the singles are two routes to the same 24 bottles. Start with singles if the line is new to your clients; start with the set if you already know they ask for this finish. Either way, the singles are the restock route for the codes that sell fastest.

Who is C04 Wildflower Whimsy for?

Lavis pitches this line for spring. In the salon it tends to book for:

How do you apply Lavis C04 gel polish?

1. Start clean. Push back the cuticle, buff lightly, dehydrate, cure a thin gel base from Base & Top Gel.
2. Thin first coat, free edge capped, 60 seconds under the lamp.
3. Build the finish. Two thin coats for a smooth cream; pastels go on thin to avoid ridges. Cure between coats.
4. Glossy top. Cure a gel top coat over it; Lavis quotes up to 21 days of wear with proper prep.

A UV/LED lamp cures every layer; ours are under Nail Tools & Accessories. Removal is a soak-off: file, wrap, wait, push, never pry.

Layering, topping and French work with a cream pastel finish

Think of C04 Wildflower Whimsy as a layer as much as a color. Over bare base it is the finish Lavis designed; over a cured cream from SNS Gel Only it changes that color's finish instead; under a matte top from Base & Top Gel it goes velvet. Each of those is a different service from the same bottle.

Two more tricks: brush a shade onto the tip and feather it into the base for a soft French, and lay glitter, foil or chrome from Nail Art under a thin coat of a light code so the art shows through the finish.

How cream pastel finish compares with a cream gel

The difference from a cream gel is in the build. Two thin coats for a smooth cream; pastels go on thin to avoid ridges. A cream from SNS Gel Only gives the same result at two coats every time; a cream pastel finish gives a choice of results, which is the point of the line and the reason to swatch before you book.

What does HEMA-free mean on this page?

Lavis makes the C-series, C04 Wildflower Whimsy included, without HEMA, the monomer behind most gel formulas and the ingredient most often named in gel reactions. Leaving it out is a formulation choice we can state plainly; it is not a guarantee that no client will react, and we do not present it as one.

Wear, removal and stocking the line

• Wear time: Lavis quotes up to 21 days with proper prep and a top coat; the top coat sets the limit.
• Removal: soak-off like any gel: thin the surface with a file, wrap with acetone, wait, push.
• Storage: caps tight, away from sunlight, room temperature; roll before the first coat so shimmer and pigment are even.
• Opening order: a handful of codes plus the set as the restock route is the usual way in, not all 24 on day one.
