How to apply #137

Prep is the same for every format: push the cuticle back, shape, take the shine off the plate, wipe with alcohol.

1. Dip. Two rounds of thin base and #137 powder, activator, file and buff, a second activator coat, top coat. No lamp.
2. Gel. Gel base, two thin coats of the #137 GelStar and a gel top, each cured, then wipe the tacky layer.
3. Lacquer. Two air-dried coats of the #137 lacquer for toes or touch-ups.

A glitter. The sparkle is in the powder, so it runs through the whole layer and does not wear off the surface the way a glitter top coat does. Many salons pair it with a cream from the same family as an accent nail.

Do I need an activator with #137?

Yes. This is the standard SNS dip routine: base, powder, base, powder, then the Sealer Dry activator over the whole nail before you file, and a second coat before top coat. The activator is what sets the powder. The two no-activator books (Green and Yellow Green) skip it; the Blue Book does not.

Are the gel and the lacquer the same shade as the powder?

Yes, by design. The same number is printed on the jar, the gel and the lacquer because the three are matched to one color. Resins and pigment loads differ between a powder, a gel and a lacquer, so the match is engineered rather than automatic. Check it on the swatch photo or the physical book, not on a screen.
